Kate Talbot – Shore Financial Planning

Kate Talbot, Chartered Financial Planner and one of around only 250 women in the UK that are Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Insurance. She says “a love of numbers and the value of money was instilled into me from an early age. Pocket money came with a ledger book and respect for money was important – enjoy it, but plan for rainy days and the future”.

With 17 years experience in the industry and much of that working with the very wealthy clients of a large banking corporation, she now runs the Thames Valley Office of Shore Financial Planning. Debs Wallace - Harmony Basingstoke

Born in Dulwich, South East London, Debs Wallace loves her London roots, however with her parents and younger brother soon moved to Purley, Surrey. She was a mischievous child and today says that, being honest, she's carried quite a bit of that through to her adulthood! From age 8 through to 16 years old, she went to a boarding school located in the Chiltern Hills and loved taking early walks with the school dogs in the the nearby beautiful, Forestry Commission woods.

On leaving school, she did well at secretarial college, having dreamed of being a Fleet Street secretary like her mother, but had a passion for people and relationships and as she started work in the big wide world, she also began Youth Work on the streets in Purley and then later as a Guider running a guide company. In 1997, a mid-life career change led her to train in counselling and her continuing education has just obtained a BA Honours from Roehampton and here we trace her story to where she is today.

Dawn Gregory - The Confident Speaker

Ever had a defining moment that in hindsight shaped how you would move forward in life. When Dawn was a teenager she used to study speech and drama, and, as part of that would take part in festivals and exams (and she’s proud to say she achieved Guildhall School of Speech and Drama, Grade 8 qualification!). However when she was 14 years old she competed in the local festival and was really very nervous and scared, but was MORE scared of letting her family and teacher down, so never confided this fear and lack of confidence.

Stefan Thomas - The Networking Retreat

Author of two stunning books on networking, Instant Networking and Business Networking for Dummies and founder of The Networking Retreat, Stefan Thomas, recalls how he was was terrified when he attended his first networking event back in 2005. Sometimes you come across a person that stops you in your tracks; Diksha Chakravati is one such person. She is a charming and irresistible mix of friendliness and feistiness. Diksha is a holistic therapist, specialising in chronic pain and stress management. Heidi Strickland-Clark - Fasttrack Fit Camp

Finalist for the Venus Award, Influential Woman of the Year, Heidi has always had a fascination with all things health and food related. It wasn’t unusual for me to read recipe books rather than fiction. She swam competitively for Reading Swimming Club as a teenager and so you’d think I’d be used to the early starts for our Early Risers camp, but no, I am the grumpy one in the morning!

National Inclusion week commenced 26/09/2016 and sparked this conversation between Elaine and Tara Rule of O2 (Telefonica UK), Chair of their Women’s Network.

Tara joined Telefonica as a management accountant over 12 years ago but now balances motherhood, her main role as the Head of Performance and Trading AND somehow on top of that manages to do an astounding job as the Chair for the Women’s Network at Telefonica. She’s worked her way through the ranks but, in her own words, doesn’t “… have a firm job in mind for [her] next role …”, but she clearly knows she hasn’t yet reached her peak! Whatever role she does, she does it 100% and it is important to her that, as a well-rounded individual, leader and manager, she constantly develops herself in order to make a positive impact on not only the business and its performance but also more importantly on the people around her.
